The childhood friend, now the requested Cobbler, traveled over many kingdoms to deliver the request. The King greeted the Cobbler and boasted with pleasure after seeing the shoes. He slipped the shoes on and remarked that his feet never felt a finer shoe. But when the King recognized the Cobbler he quickly grew troubled, worn and tired. And the Cobbler, who seemed well and filled with joy, noticed a change in his old friend. Still, the Cobbler explained the financial hardship he was having and asked for help.
