To my nephew Andros, today is your day. You and your people are what make you who and what you are. Never be ashamed of your own people or yourself. The color of your skin, the texture of your hair, the size of your muscles, the level at which you study, the rhythm of your walk and dance, the pitch and patios that you speak , the sound your voice makes, along with all that fills you from the crown of your head to the sole of your feet, formed by your mother and father, is one of God’s perfect creations—YOU. Hold your head up not down and own all that God has gifted you with.
This is your ladder of life, so take your time and climb up to your top; and know these three things: (1) God is the most valuable in all of the universe (2) Self and Family are the most valuable in earth and (3) a Sound Mind, a Good Spirit and Healthy Body all together is most important for yourself. And you are worth it.
Darling Andros, from your birth to your first well-baby physical, to your first tomato planted in the garden, to your first dance to Planet Rock in the basement, to eating your full batter from the cake bowl, to your first snow angels and skiing around the yard, to your first cup-a-bug (kakabug) from the cup-a-bug fairy we were there. And we will be there today to see you cross that stage and get the” paper” that is truly priceless., your DIPLOMA!!
